Product Base
Squalane Oil
Our main product base is Squalane Oil. Squalane is a natural lipid produced by our skin cells, is renowned for its remarkable moisturizing properties. When applied to the scalp and skin, squalane forms a protective barrier that helps to lock in moisture, preventing dehydration and maintaining skin elasticity. Additionally, squalane possesses antioxidant properties that can help neutralize free radicals, reducing oxidative stress and promoting overall skin health. Its lightweight and non-comedogenic nature make it suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin, making squalane an excellent choice for nourishing and hydrating both the scalp and skin.
Where is Squalane Sourced From:
Squalane can be derived from various natural sources, but it is primarily obtained from two main sources:
-Olive Oil: Squalane is extracted from olive oil through a process called hydrogenation, which converts the unsaturated squalene found in olive oil into the more stable and saturated form known as squalane.
-Shark Liver Oil (Historically): Historically, squalane was obtained from the liver of deep-sea sharks, where squalene is abundant. However, due to ethical and environmental concerns, this source has become less common in recent years.
